About the New Chapter Coordinator
You may be asking what does a New Chapter Coordinator do? The role of the New Chapter Coordinator is to work with the EWGA Chapter Development Representative to move the group from formation to affiliation with the EWGA.
While many times the New Chapter Coordinator becomes the Chapter's first president and leads the Chapter through its first and sometimes second year of operation, that's not always the case. The Chapter Development Team, the New Chapter Coordinator and the Organizational Committee work together to determine what is best for the future of the Chapter.
Skills, talent and characteristics for a successful New Chapter Coordinator include:
- Enthusiasm - expressing zeal about the EWGA, the EWGA mission and the possibility of creating a local EWGA Chapter.
- Good people skills - creating a welcoming environment for all and having the knack for building and leading teams.
- Team Player - possessing the ability and willingness to work in partnership with your EWGA Chapter Development Representative, New Chapter Specialist and other EWGA staff and volunteers.
- Strong Leadership and Delegation skills - capable of involving others in learning and understanding about the EWGA and empowering them to follow through on their commitments.
- Motivational - ability to attract, enthuse and inspire others and move them to action
- Action Oriented and Organized - adept at guiding others in achieving goals and completing tasks.
- Visionary - willing to learn about, support and communicate the EWGA's vision & mission; and the capacity to educate others on the value and benefits of EWGA membership.
- Good Communicator - aptitude for learning and educating others on the value and benefits of EWGA and to effectively differentiate the Association from other local golf leagues.
