2009
This year, the EWGA Championship reached another 2,400 plus in overall participation.
For the first time in EWGA Championship history, the Championship Finals were held in the Pacific Northwest area. The Reserve Vineyards & Golf Club near Portland, OR proved to be a great test for all Championship participants. Even spectators and friends who were not competitiors had an opportunity to experience the Reserve's very challenging North course in the Callaway Team Challenge.
Lori Whitaker, a member of the EWGA Atlanta, GA Chapter captured the stroke play title with two fantastic scores of 76 for a two day, 36-hole total of 152. Defending their scramble title for the fourth year in a row was the team from Madison, WI - Captain Shelly Armstron, Terri Redmond, Sarah Dekraay, and Ginger Simpson. Their two day, net total of 122 was an eleven stroke victory over the second place team from Akron, OH.

In 2007, the Championship Finals were held for a second time at the Hermitage Golf Course in Nashville, Tennessee. New this year was that players competed on the same course for both rounds. Melissa Holland from the Central Arkansas Chapter is the 2007 EWGA Championship titlest. Additionally, the Madison, WI Scramble team of Shelly Armstrong, Sarah Dekraay, Ginger Zimmerman and Terri Redmond proceeded to defend their title and became a three-time Champion.
Also in 2007, the EWGA Championship Committee received the International Network of Golf (ING) Industry Honors award for Tournament Service. Members of the 2007 EWGA Championship Committee include:
2006
The 2006 low gross stroke play EWGA Championship title was awarded to Pat Beljan-Ayres of the Port St. Lucie-Treasure Coast, FL Chapter. The Madison, WI Chapter successfully defended their 2005 Scramble Division title, winning by a 7 stroke margin. The championship was conducted at Whirlwind Golf Club at Wild Horse Pass in Chandler, AZ.
2005
In 2005, the Championship Finals celebrated its 10th anniversary at the Crystal Mountain Resort in Michigan. The Championship Finals have never been played in a northern climate but the weather was perfect and the resort even better. The cool morning starts agreed with Kris Fenwick of the Boise/Treasure Valley Chapter as she took home the Championship Trophy.
2004
The 2004 EWGA Championship set another record for participation with over 2,200 competitors entering the tournament at over 100 qualifying sites. Weather was definitely a factor in the 2004 Championship with Sectional Championship semi-finals up and down the East Coast disrupted by hurricanes and storms. But the weather was perfect in Nashville, Tennessee at the Hermitage Golf Course for the Championship Finals in September. Finalists were treated to southern hospitality and taste of why Nashville is known as Music City USA at the Wednesday night "Guitar Pull" where top Nashville songwriters received standing ovations from the appreciative crowd. When the dust and the heat had settled, the Championship saw its first two-time winners as Chris Giza, the 1999 Champion, won her second Championship trophy, and the scramble team from the Greater Knoxville Chapter won for the second year in a row.
2003
2003 brought yet another historical change to the Championship as it became a stand alone event, independent of the Sectional events and the Annual Conference! PING, Inc. kicked of the 2003 Championship Finals festivities with a special reception on the Arizona State University Campus at the ASU Karsten Golf Course. The Ping Reception featured LPGA standouts Pat Hurst and Maria Hjorth, long drive, putting and chipping contests and club demos. In the hot Arizona sun and under the watchful eye of Camelback Mountain, Darcy Garbutt, a member of our first Canadian Chapter, The Greater Toronto Area Canada Chapter, claimed the title of EWGA Champion. The 36 holes of Championship golf were played at Talking Stick Golf Club in Scottsdale, AZ! The setting couldn't have been better for the largest Championship Finals field ever to compete.
2002
The 2002 Championship Finals were contested under perfect Florida skies at the Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge in Orlando. Disney World hovered in the background and many will remember the infamous dunk tank and ‘Four Little Old Ladies in Golf Shoes'! The all volunteer EWGA Championship Committee was expanded to six (6) members, each serving to direct Sectional Championships and the Championship Finals. The Committee improved the Championship administration, focused on pace of play and elevated the Championship to another level. The USGA hosted a Tournament Administration workshop exclusively for 2002 Chapter Championship Directors and the EWGA Championship Committee at Golf House, home to the USGA, in Far Hills, NJ. The overall Champions scorecard belonged to Bonnie Fannin of the Charlotte, NC Chapter, and so did the ‘crystal ball'.
2000
In 2000, the Association Conference and Championship was held at beautiful Kiawah Island SC. Once again the year brought additional changes to the Championship. The stroke play division, a 36-hole championship final, was played on the beautiful Osprey Course, which is also home to quite a few alligators. The newly added Championship Scramble Division played their 18-hole final on Kiawah Island's famous Ocean Course. It was the year of the movie, "Legend of Bagger Vance", which had previously been filmed on this stunning Atlantic coast course. As ‘gators sunned themselves on tee boxes and floated silently in nearby water hazards, Fairfield County, CT Chapter's Amy Dickison put her finishing touches on the overall Championship title.
1999
The Doral Resort and Spa in Miami, FL hosted the 1999 EWGA Conference and Championship. The EWGA was again experiencing organizational restructure and the organization's first member Executive Director (Sara Hume) was announced. In 1999, the Championship guidelines remained the same and the Championship was played on Doral's Gold course. Doral was also preparing for the PGA qualifying school the following week and many players will remember forever the ‘dreaded' Bermuda grass rough. Chris Giza, Washington, D.C. Metro Chapter, ‘kept it in the short grass' and claimed the title of overall Champion.
1998
The year 1998 brought another change to the Championship. The Regional concept had been dropped and the EWGA was reorganized into Sections. The National Conference was again conducted at the Pointe Hilton on South Mountain in Phoenix, AZ. The Championship, now expanded in number of participants due to the sectional reorganization, was played at the nearby Ocotillo Golf Club. There were lakes and a lot of water everywhere! Des Moines, IA Chapter member, Therese Morgan conquered the courses ever present water and walked away with the overall Championship title.
1997
The 1997 EWGA National Conference and Championship were again hosted at the PGA National Resort and Spa in Palm Beach Gardens. There were no changes to the Championship format that year but a new overall Champion emerged as Erin Andrew of the Heart of America Chapter sank her putt on the final hole.
1996
With consideration for the Northern Chapters whose golf opportunities are scarce in the winter months (contributing to rusty skills), the timing of the National event was changed to take place in November. This resulted in two (2) National Conferences in 1996, the first being in February and the other held in November. Cadillac sponsored the six (6) Regional Championships that year and the November National Conference and Championship was conducted in Palm Beach Gardens FL, at the PGA National Resort and Spa. This was a busy 5th Anniversary Year for the EWGA. Kelly Hollister, San Diego, CA Chapter, won the overall title and took the Championship trophy home.
