PULLMAN, Wash. – EWGA Spokane/Inland Northwest Chapter recently hosted the Pacific Northwest District Semi-Final at Palouse Ridge Golf Club on August 26, 2017. The EWGA District Semi Finals events take place at 15 venues nationwide during a three month period for golfers who advance from their local Chapter Championship.
Now in its 22nd year, the EWGA Championship is the largest women’s amateur golf tournament of its kind, with more than 2,400 members participating annually. The competitive tournament appeals to EWGA members of all skill levels as it includes five flights of Stroke Play Competition and as well as a Scramble Division. Participants compete in a local Chapter Championship, presented by Guardian Life Insurance of America, then advance to the district semi-finals at one of 15 venues nationwide. The event concludes with the national EWGA Championship, an exciting two-day finals competition that will be held at Hot Springs Village in Hot Springs, Arkansas on October 6 and 7.
The Pacific Northwest semi-final was held August 26, 2017 at. Palouse Ridge Golf Club, Pullman, WA. There were 67 EWGA members competing from five Chapters. The low gross honors went to Cynthia Merritt and Tammy Curtis from the Seattle Chapter with a score of 85. April Okazaki from the Portland Chapter won the Low net honors with a score of 64.
The Senior Flight (ages 55 to 69) gross winner was Cynthia Merritt from the Seattle Chapter with a score of 85 and low net winner was Susie Luby from the Seattle Chapter with a score of 66.
The Super Senior Flight (ages 70 and above) gross winner was Pat Solberg from the Seattle Chapter with a score of 112.
