Nobleton Lakes Golf Club Hosts EWGA Upper Midwest District Semi-Final Event

ONTARIO, Canada – The York-Simcoe Chapter of EWGA Canada recently hosted the Upper Mideast District Semi-Final Championship  at Nobleton Lakes Golf Club on August 26, 2017 for EWGA golfers who advance from their local Chapter Championship.

Now in its 22nd year, the EWGA Championship is the largest women’s amateur golf tournament of its kind, with more than 2,400 members participating annually. The competitive tournament appeals to EWGA members of all skill levels as it includes five flights of Stroke Play Competition and as well as a Scramble Division. Participants compete in a local Chapter Championship, presented by Guardian Life Insurance of America, then advance to the district semi-finals at one of 15 venues nationwide. The event concludes with the national EWGA Championship, an exciting two-day finals competition that will be held at Hot Springs Village in Hot Springs, Arkansas on October 6 and 7.

The Upper Mideast district Semi-Final was held at Nobleton Lakes Golf Club on August 26, 2017. There were 88 EWGA members competing from seven Chapters. The Championship Flight low gross honors went to Charlotte Wang from Greater Toronto, ON with a score of 83. Denise Schaefer from Waterloo Region, ON won the Low net honors with a score of 77.

The Senior Flight (ages 55 to 69) gross winner was Bev Hill from Greater Toronto, ON with a score of 90 and low net winner was Monique Rodrigue from York-Simcoe, ON with a score of 72.

The Super Senior Flight (ages 70 and above) gross winner was Joan Cleland from Metro Detriot, MI with a score of 116.

"Our members enjoy competitive playing events and those who are advancing to the EWGA Championship are excited to play in Hot Springs Village."
